Breaking: Treasury may issue a $1 coin featuring Donald Trump for America’s 250th Independence anniversary.

The draft design shows Trump’s profile on the heads side. On the tails side — Trump with raised fist and U.S. flag.

The tails design recalls Trump’s image after last year’s failed assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.

Treasurer Brandon Beach confirmed the draft, saying: “No fake news here… these designs are real.”

But Treasury clarified: the $1 Trump coin design is still in draft stage — not final.

Laws ban living presidents on U.S. currency — but commemorative coins by the Mint have more flexibility.

The U.S. Mint has a history of commemorative coins, from famous women on quarters to state-themed issues.

Under a 2021 law, Treasury is authorized to issue $1 coins for America’s 250th birthday in 2026.

If approved, the Trump coin would mark a historic and controversial moment in U.S. currency history.
