Meta’s Next Move: Your AI Chats Will Fuel Ads

Meta announced it will soon use user conversations with Meta AI chatbot to deliver more personalized ads.

The change starts December 16, 2025, after in-app notices roll out next week.

Example: Talk about hiking with Meta AI, you’ll start seeing hiking ads & content across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

But sensitive topics — religion, politics, health, sexuality — won’t be used for targeted ads, Meta confirmed.

Meta AI has already reached 1 billion monthly users, integrated into Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp & the standalone app.

In Q2 2025, Meta earned $46.5B ad revenue, up 21% YoY. Ads remain its biggest business driver.
